Our jurisdiction includes the District of West Vancouver, as well as the village of Xwemelch’stn (Capilano Reserve) located within the Skwwu7mesh Uxwumixw (Squamish Nation).  Our breathtaking natural landscape encompasses approximately 87 square kilometers from sea level to a mountain elevation of 1224 meters.

While we pride ourselves on being a community-based organization, we also offer our officers many specialized and integrated opportunities once they have gained the required experience in our Patrol Section. We serve a broad and diverse population and we want our Department to reflect the community we serve.

  • Be knowledgeable of, and enforce, the Criminal Code, relevant Provincial statutes and Municipal by-laws
  • Investigate criminal complaints, apprehend offenders, lay charges, participate in prosecutions, execute warrants
  • Provide leadership and professional support to colleagues and the community
  • Investigate allegations of unlawful activity consistent with the BC Police Act
