SAFE TRADING ZONE

SAFE TRADING ZONES are designated areas where individuals can engage in buying, selling, or exchanging goods with a reduced risk of theft, fraud, and other criminal activities.  These zones are typically established to provide a secure environment for transactions to take place, particularly for online purchases or exchanges arranged through classified ads or online marketplaces.   The concept of SAFE TRADING ZONES is to address the concerns and risks associated with meeting strangers for transactions, especially in cases where valuable items or sums of cash are involved.  These zones are often equipped with surveillance cameras and are in a well-lit, public environment.   While SAFE TRADING ZONES can offer additional security, it is still important for individuals to exercise caution and use common sense when engaging in any transaction with a stranger.

West Vancouver Police is pleased to provide a SAFE TRADING ZONE location at the main entrance to the Police office at 755 16th Street.  While this area is equipped with surveillance cameras, they are not monitored 24/7.  West Vancouver Police Reception is open 9am to 5pm weekdays (closed statutory holidays) and while not mandatory, it is recommended that our SAFE TRADING ZONE be utilized while Reception is open.

West Vancouver Police accepts no responsibility for any transactions and will not become involved in any negotiations.
