● Purse, wallet, ID cards & cash stolen.
B&E(Residential) – Taylor Way / Marine Drive Area
● Resident returned from extended travel to discover break-in to suite in multi-unit residential building
● Watch & cash stolen. Unsecured patio door identified as likely entry point
THEFT
Theft(Robbery) – Taylor Way/Marine Drive Area
● Theft of phone/vehicle keys forcibly taken from victim. Suspect subsequently found & arrested
● Suspect & victim known to each other
Theft from Auto(Catalytic Converter – Attempted) – Cedardale Area
● Catalytic Converter found partially detached from vehicle parked in residential driveway
Theft from Auto(Catalytic Converter) – Ambleside Area
● Catalytic Converter stolen from vehicle parked on residential street
Theft from Auto – Community Centre Area
● License plate stolen from vehicle parked on residential street
Theft of Mail – British Properties / Capilano Golf Club Area
● Mailbox found pried open. Unknown if any mail lost
● Fortunately victim had cleared mailbox previous day
Theft(Shoplifting-Breach) – Taylor Way / Marine Drive
● Male observed shoplifting by retail loss prevention staff.
● Upon arrest officers confirmed suspect was also subject of prior arrest warrant.
Theft(Shoplifting) – 14 Total Reports Since April 4th – All reports in Marine Drive/Taylor Way Area
FRAUD
Fraud – British Properties
● Victim contacted by phone. Suspect claimed to represent victim’s personal bank & reported unauthorized charges on their account
● Victim complied with suspect request to transfer additional funds to resolve matter
Fraud(Attempted) – Ambleside
● Intended victim received unexpected & un-ordered package with valueless plastic pendant inside
● Resident then received email with links to “resolve any delivery concerns”
● Links recognized as a scam attempt. Package destroyed. Email deleted
