Arson – School Playground – Chartwell Area

  • WV Fire responded to report of fire on school playground
  • Plastic playground equipment damaged

THEFT

Theft – Ambleside Park

  • Unattended backpack & contents stolen
  • Keys, wallets, cellphones, ID & other personal effects lost

Theft – WV Community Centre

  • Theft of phone from unsecured locker

Theft – WV Community Centre

  • Theft of duffle bag from unsecured locker

Theft from Auto – Ambleside

  • Theft of low value personal items from unlocked vehicle in residential driveway

Theft – Shoplifting – Summary

  • 12 reports since last update.
  • 11 from Taylor Way / Marine Drive area. One from Ambleside Business District

MISCHIEF

Mischief – Horseshoe Bay

  • Business discovered glass damage at entry, suspected BB gun or similar projectile involved
  • No entry gained. No theft

Mischief – Ambleside

  • Tire slashed on car in multi-unit residential building parkade

FRAUD

Fraud – Phone Call

  • Resident received call from suspect claiming to represent phone company
  • Suspect stated call was to arrange for replacement of home internet router
  • Personal & banking information requested & provided
  • Victim then noted unauthorized banking transactions on account

Fraud – Email

  • Resident received email claiming to be from their daughter, requesting funds for phone repair
  • Victim did not note that message was not from daughter’s email.
  • Funds transferred before daughter was contacted & confirmed it was a fraud

Fraud – Phone

  • Suspect called resident, claiming to be representative of their bank, claimed there had been fraudulent charges on resident’s account
  • Suspect demanded victim forward payment via gift cards to resolve outstanding charges
  • Funds sent before victim realized it was a fraud

WARRANT ARRESTS

Suspicious Person – Warrant Arrest

  • Family walking in Ambleside reported male appearing to follow & chase them
  • Patrol officers responded, located & checked male
  • Suspect arrested on outstanding warrant & held for court appearance
