Theft of Mail

With tax season ongoing, we remind you to pay attention to your mailbox. A resident in the upper slopes area of Dundarave found their locking mailbox broken open this week. What if any mail was stolen is undetermined.  Reduce your risk by checking your mailbox and clearing all mail on any day there is scheduled delivery.

Thefts From Auto

Your unattended vehicle is not a secure place to store valuable items. Thefts from Auto were reported this week in neighbourhoods near Capilano Road & Marine Drive, Lions Gate Bridge area, and further west in retail parking near Marine Drive and Taylor Way. Two thefts involved valuables left in unlocked vehicles. A side passenger window was smashed to gain access to a third vehicle.

Wildfire Risk Mitigation

Hot, dry Summer weather & rising wildfire risks are approaching. Along with our Public Safety partners at West Vancouver Fire & Rescue Services, we encourage you to take steps to reduce your risks, especially if your home is close to the urban/forest interface.

West Vancouver is a FireSmart Community, with work ongoing to support practical, property-level actions to reduce wildfire risk. Residents are encouraged to do their part and focus attention especially within the Home Ignition Zone (approximately the first 10 metres around homes).
