File: 25-7930

Date: 07 August, 2025

West Vancouver, B.C. – A pick-up truck hit several cars before the driver fled the scene and abandoned his vehicle

On the 1st of August at approximately 9:30 pm, West Vancouver Police received multiple reports that a pick-up truck hit three parked vehicles in the 1800 and 1900 blocks of Bellevue Ave before fleeing the scene and continuing westbound. With further assistance from the public, the vehicle was located, unoccupied, in the back alley behind the West Vancouver Memorial Library, in the 2000 block of Marine Drive.

The pick-up truck was a dark blue, 2007 Toyota Tacoma, which sustained significant damage to the front passenger side, above the wheel. The driver is described as a Caucasian male, heavier set, who appears to be balding. West Vancouver Police are asking for anyone who witnessed the event, saw the driver abandon the vehicle and leave the scene, or has relevant dashcam footage, to reach out to us at 604-925-7300.

“We are particularly interested to hear from the public if they can provide a description or have any other relevant details regarding the driver of the vehicle”, says Sgt. Chris Bigland, “either from when he hit the cars on Bellevue or when he exited his vehicle behind the library”.
