West Vancouver– A person’s life was tragically cut short following a pedestrian involved motor vehicle collision.
On February 28, 2023, at 9:20 a.m. the West Vancouver Police responded to the 800 block of 3rd Street for a report of a pedestrian involved motor vehicle incident.
When members arrived, they learned that a 83-year-old male had been struck by a commercial flatbed truck. The male suffered serious injuries and was deceased at the scene.
The area of 3rd Street was closed for several hours while the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) took control of the scene.
The driver of the vehicle remained at scene and is cooperating with police.
A final determination as to the contributing factors will not be available until the ICARS investigation has been completed.
