Motorcyclist in Hospital After Collision on Sea to Sky Highway

West Vancouver, B.C. – A collision between two motorcyclists closed Highway 99 for approximately two hours

On August 24th, at approximately 7 p.m., West Vancouver Police received reports of a serious motor vehicle incident in the southbound lanes of the 7000 block of Highway 99. Two motorcyclists travelling together in the same lane collided, causing one of the riders to lose control and leave the roadway before coming into contact with the rock wall. Emergency Health Services and West Vancouver Fire and Rescue attended the scene and performed life-sustaining measures until the female rider was airlifted to hospital in critical condition.

ICARS (Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service) attended the scene to assist in the investigation, and the highway was reopened after approximately two hours. The West Vancouver Police Department thanks the public for their patience and cooperation.
