Break & Enter

A properly functioning home alarm appears to have help reduce the risk of loss in a residential break-in this past week. An intrusion alarm was triggered at a British Properties home in the Chartwell Park area.  Officers arrived at scene within minutes of dispatch to confirm the break-in. Suspects had fled but appeared to have done so without having time to steal anything.

Recovered Stolen Auto

Proactive work by our officers landed suspects in custody this week. Officers patrolling in the Taylor Way/Marine Drive area checked a suspicious vehicle plate subsequently confirmed it had been reported stolen in the Sea to Sky Corridor.  Officers took up observation and two suspects were arrested without incident when they returned to the vehicle.

Meet WVPD Officers & Your Block Watch Coordinator

As Block Captains & Co-Captains, we encourage you to meet with your Block Groups, either virtually, or in person with participants at least once a year, to renew acquaintances, ensure contact information is up to date, and take the opportunity to welcome new arrivals in the neighbourhood to your Block Watch.

We’re happy to join your gatherings with an update on Block Watch.

Watch for our updates in the coming weeks on support available to host your Block Watch gathering. Meantime, we can visit in person, or touch base via MS Teams if that suits your needs better. Give me a call. Send me an email. Let’s see what we can schedule!
