UPDATE – Serious injuries caused by vehicle travelling wrong way on highway 1.

UPDATE:

On November 22nd, 2023, Alexandra Georgson, 29, of Fernie BC, was charged with five counts of Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle causing bodily harm. Mrs Georgson will appear in court on December 13th, 2023. As this matter is now before the courts, Police will not make any further comments regarding the details of this incident.

West Vancouver – Serious injuries caused by vehicle travelling wrong way on highway 1.

West Vancouver Police, BC Ambulance and West Vancouver Fire and Rescue are currently on scene and investigating a serious collision involving a motorhome and three vehicles on highway 1 between Cypress Bowl Rd and 22nd St.

On September 21st, 2022, at approximately 12:45 pm, officers arrived on scene on highway 1 eastbound, Between Cypress and 22nd street, after reports of a collision involving four vehicles.

Early reports indicate that the motorhome was travelling westbound in the eastbound lanes when the vehicle caused two other vehicles to swerve before going head on with the third and final vehicle.

Five ambulances attended the scene and transported five people to the hospital. Two individuals are believed to be in critical condition, while four sustained minor injuries.

Due to the serious nature of the incident members of the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) attended and took control of the scene.
