Just after 6am this morning, the West Vancouver Police Department received a report of a significant collision in the 2400 block of Marine Dr. Preliminary information suggests a vehicle was travelling Eastbound on Marine Dr when it struck a granite road sign at the intersection of 25th and Marine Dr. The resulting debris field stretches a half-block on both sides of the roadway. The driver was transported to hospital with minor injuries, and thankfully, no one else involved in the collision. Officers are investigating the cause of the collision. Speed and impairment have not been ruled out.
“We are fortunate that no pedestrians or other drivers were injured in this collision” said Sgt Chris Bigland “Marine Drive will be closed in both directions until the debris can be cleared and the road returned to a safe condition. We ask the public to avoid the area as much as possible”.
