Police seek witnesses after woman struck by vehicle in Ambleside

West Vancouver – Investigators are seeking witnesses following a serious incident involving a pedestrian and a truck in which the pedestrian suffered from life threatening injuries. 
 
On January 19th at approximately 1:25 pm, officers arrived at the intersection of 13th St. and Bellevue Ave. after a report of a serious incident involving a pedestrian.   
 
When officers arrived, they learned that a female in her 70s had been struck by a truck while crossing 13th St. The woman suffered serious injuries and was rushed to hospital by BC Ambulance.

The driver, a male in his 50s remained on scene. 
 
The area of 13th and Bellevue Ave was closed to traffic for hours as the Integrated Collision analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) took control of the scene.  
 
“This is a tragic incident”, says Cst. Nicole Braithwaite. “If you have any information please come forward. We need all available evidence to help us with this investigation. That includes any dashcam footage that may have captured the moments leading up to the incident.”  

The investigation is ongoing.
