West Vancouver, B.C. – Officer conducting proactive patrols prevents theft, leading to two arrests, seven charges, and the recovery of approximately $13 000 in stolen goods.
In response to community and business owner concerns, the West Vancouver Police Department has increased its presence in key areas to prevent and disrupt criminal activity.
On August 30th, 2024, a plainclothes officer observed a man and woman wearing disguises and carrying large, empty bags into Lululemon in Park Royal Village South. The pair were seen stealing approximately $13 000 in merchandise before exiting the store. While attempting an arrest, the officer was assaulted and threatened with a knife before the suspects fled. Additional units arrived, and both suspects were successfully apprehended and taken into custody without further incident.
On August 31st, 2024, Breanne Leigh Erickson, aged 34, was charged with the following three offences:
- Theft over $5000, contrary to section 334(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
- Wilfully Resisting or Obstructing a Peace Officer, contrary to section 129(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
- Disguising Face with Intent to Commit Indictable Offence, contrary to section 351(2) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
On August 31st, 2024, Jordan Michael Cishecki, age 29, was charged with the following four offences:
- Theft over $5000, contrary to section 334(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
- Disguising Face with Intent to Commit Indictable Offence, contrary to section 351(2) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
- Uttering Threats, contrary to section 264.1(1) Criminal Code of Canada.
- Assaulting a Peace Officer, contrary to section 270(1) Criminal Code of Canada.
As the matter is now before the courts, no further updates will be released.
