The West Vancouver Police Department is looking to fill one (1) Permanent Full-Time Human Resources Associate position.
The Human Resources Associate is responsible for administering and supporting multiple Human Resources (HR) functions across the Department including, but not limited to HRIS data management, recruitment & training, Occupational Health & Safety, employee wellness, and labour relations.
You must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in order to be effective in requesting and delivering information; strong interpersonal skills including tact, diplomacy and confidentiality; strong organizational skills to coordinate multiple tasks and projects; be a self-starter who has the ability to exercise considerable independence and judgement, be customer focused; have experience in interpreting collective agreements in a unionized environment; and be familiar with the organizational structure of a police agency and a public sector environment.
The preferred applicant will have a minimum of five (5) years’ Human Resource experience, post-secondary education in Human Resources or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance, including a polygraph examination.
Position Status: Exempt – Permanent Full Time
Hours of Work: In Office – Mon to Fri – 35 hours per week
