West Vancouver Police and the BC Coroner’s Service are investigating a sudden death early Sunday near the entry of Ambleside Park.

Shortly before 8:30 Sunday morning, emergency services were called to the intersection of 13th Street and Bellevue Avenue.

An off-duty physician walking in the area had found an unresponsive male stuck in the opening of a clothing donation bin.

Despite efforts of West Vancouver Fire & Rescue and BC Ambulance Advanced Life Support crews, the male could not be resuscitated and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Family of the 34-year-old Vancouver resident has been notified.  Identity of the deceased is not being released at this time.  No indication of foul play has been identified. The cause of death has not yet been confirmed.

The BC Coroner’s Service has taken over the investigation.
