West Vancouver Police are proud to be participating once again in the Cops for Cancer Tour de Coast ride.
In September 2019, WVPD Cpl. Chris Bigland and Cst. Curtis Hoyland will join multiple law enforcement officers from around the Lower Mainland, riding 800 kilometers in nine days to support the Canadian Cancer Society in the fight against Pediatric Cancers.
Support of Cops for Cancer helps fund the best pediatric research and life-saving clinical trials in Canada. Cops for Cancer donations also support operation of Camp Goodtimes, a summer camp for children coping with cancer.
“This is my second time participating in the Tour de Coast, and I was affected by many of the people we met and stories we heard,” says WVPD Cpl. Chris Bigland. “I hope that the Tour de Coast shows these kids and their families that they are not alone, that we are thinking of them, and that they are important to us.”
Fundraising is well underway, and both officers will be hosting upcoming community events in an effort to raise awareness and to promote the ride.
