Staff from WVPD will be taking part in the Pulling Together Canoe Journey this year, which will see participants travelling throughout the traditional waters of the Sechelt and Tla’amin Nations on the Sunshine Coast.

This is the fourth journey for the WVPD Chi’ich’iyuy canoe family which is made up of police officers, local youth, local youth leaders, and other community partners.

The journey, now in its 18th year, sees hundreds of people come together from throughout the Province to travel by canoe through traditional waterways of local First Nation’s, with the purpose of recognizing the past, while working together to enhance understanding between public service agencies and First Nation’s people.

The journey takes place from July 6 to 12.
