Motorcyclists Gravely Injured In Cypress Bowl Road Collision

A collision between a car and motorcycle on Cypress Bowl Road has left two people in critical condition.

Emergency crews were called to the intersection of Cypress Bowl Road and Chippendale Road just after 7:30pm Tuesday where a small sedan and a motorcycle had collided head-on.

The rider of the motorcycle, a 24-year-old Coquitlam man, and passenger, a 23-year-old Burnaby woman, were rushed to hospital with critical injuries.

The driver of the car, a 35-year-old man visiting Canada from Israel, was not seriously injured.

The West Vancouver Police Traffic Services Section and the Integrated Collision Analysis & Reconstruction Service (ICARS) are investigating.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.  There is no indication at this point of impairment being a factor.
