We continue to actively monitor the COVID-19 pandemic. In an effort to maintain essential public safety functions, protect our employees and keep members of the community safe, we have made some modifications to our operations.
- If you attend the Police Department you may be subject to a brief non-intrusive screening related to the COVID-19 health risks. Please understand that this is for the protection of our staff who will be serving you and other members of the public. Please do not attend if you are feeling unwell.
- While the department is still operational, citizens are encouraged to use telephone reporting. Telephone reports can be made 24/7 by calling (604) 925-7300.
- If you have an emergency, please contact 9-1-1
- When possible, in order to limit contact with the public and to mitigate potential staff shortages, we will be contacting members of the public or conducting a follow-up by telephone. If a call requires police attendance, our communications centre will ask a series of screening questions. Again, this is for the protection and peace of mind for our officers who may be dispatched to you.
- We are caring for our staff
- We are planning for the possibility that our staff may be impacted if our employees become ill.
- We are developing plans to keep patrol functions as a top priority to maintain our ability to be responsive for emergency calls for service should this occur.
- We are also increasing cleaning of our work spaces, vehicles and other equipment, to protect our staff and members of the public.
- We have made support services available for those who may be experiencing anxiety or fear
This situation is dynamic and as the information from health authorities changes, we may make other service modifications.

The West Vancouver Police Department is currently responding to all calls for service and will continue to respond in-person to calls where there are safety issues or if the call for service cannot be handled over the phone. Thank you for your patience.
As required by WorksafeBC and in accordance with orders issued by the office of the Provincial Health Officer, a COVID-19 Safety Plan is now in place as the West Vancouver Police Department continues/resumes operations following work interruptions related to COVID-19.
