Charges pending after suspect found in possession of stolen e-bike

West Vancouver – A man is facing criminal charges of possession of stolen property over $5000 after he was found to be in possession of an e-bike that was stolen on July 14th in Whistler, BC. 

On August 16th, 2020, the owner of the bicycle contacted West Vancouver Police to inform them that he had located his stolen bicycle for sale online. He also said that he had arranged a meet at Park Royal Mall, in West Vancouver for later that day. 

Officers working in plain clothes (non-uniform) were sent to the area and quickly located the suspect, who was in possession of the bicycle, worth over $9000.

A 38-year-old man from Vancouver, was arrested at scene. He was later released and criminal charges are being recommended. 

The stolen bicycle has since been returned to its owner.
