West Vancouver Police are urging caution by residents amid a number of newly reported automated calls offering residential water testing.
Residents have reported receiving automated calls that include a recorded voice making a false claim that lead contamination has been identified in Lower Mainland water supplies and advising that crews will be available in the area to test water in individual homes.
The District of West Vancouver has confirmed that there has been no such contamination identified in municipal water supplies.
Residents should not allow individuals to attend or enter their home under such a pretense.
Suspicious calls or activity can be reported to West Vancouver Police at 604-925-7300.
