As required by WorksafeBC and in accordance with orders issued by the office of the Provincial Health Officer, a COVID-19 Safety Plan is now in place as the West Vancouver Police Department continues/resumes operations following work interruptions related to COVID-19.
The Law Enforcement Torch Run in support of Special Olympics BC usually takes place around this time of year. But, due to COVID-19, SOBC has temporarily paused the program.
Well, we’ve come up with a solution.
North Vancouver RCMP and West Vancouver Police Department are partnering up to run a 33 kilometre, physically-distanced virtual relay in place of the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run.
The West Vancouver Police Department has been working diligently to address any safety concerns from our community amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic has caused much uncertainty and this may have impacted perceptions about public safety.
