File: 24-12407

West Vancouver, B.C.A collaboration with regional policing partners has culminated in the recovery of stolen property, two arrests, and charge recommendations in West Vancouver theft

At approximately 2 a.m. on December 1st, 2024, three males driving a stolen Dodge Ram with counterfeit licence plates gained unauthorized access to a garage in the 2200 block of Folkstone Way in West Vancouver. A multi-jurisdictional investigation revealed that the suspects were tied to additional break-ins and thefts throughout the Lower Mainland and a ‘fail to stop for police’ in Langley. A suspect was identified, as were two associated residences in Surrey.

On December 5th, 2024, police executed two simultaneous search warrants in Surrey, locating a significant amount of stolen property, illegal drugs, fraudulent documents and credit cards, stolen credit cards, and equipment used to forge documents. Two arrests were made, and WVPD is recommending a charge against a 44-year-old man from Surrey in relation to the break-and-enter and theft in West Vancouver.

“We take break-and-enters and thefts very seriously”, said Sgt. John McCormack. “Individuals coming into our District to commit crimes should know that we will work with our partners throughout the Lower Mainland to ensure they are brought to justice”.

The West Vancouver Police Department would like to thank our partners, particularly the RCMP Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit’s (SPOSU) Community Response Unit (CRU), The Surrey Police Service, and the Metro Vancouver Transit Police Crime Suppression Team.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact WVPD at 604-925-7300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
