House Cleaner Charged with Theft as West Vancouver Police Work to Return Stolen Property to Owners

West Vancouver–West Vancouver Police continue efforts to return stolen property following charges against house cleaner.

In Sept of 2023, WVPD received a report of jewellery stolen from the home of an elderly couple. An investigation led to the arrest of a suspect, and a subsequent search warrant was executed at their residence. This search resulted in the seizure of 52 items of suspected stolen property.

On December 4th, 2023, Imelda Lacanaria was charged with three counts of Possession of Stolen Property over 5000$.

WVPD is urging any individuals who suspect they or their family members may have fallen victim to theft to contact police. The department’s primary objective is to facilitate the return of stolen property to its rightful owners. Presently, there are 45 stolen items in custody awaiting identification. Anyone who believes they are missing an item of value is asked to contact WVPD at 604-925-7300.
