Calls For Police Service In West Vancouver Since Last Alerts – 594

Good Day Block Watch Captains, Co-Captains & Participants, West Vancouver Police have responded to 396 calls for service since our last update.

Impaired Driving

As Summer & seasonal celebrations near an end, we urge all in our community to share with family & personal networks the vital importance of safe & sober driving.

The season can include more events involving alcohol & other intoxicants. It is critical for safety of your loved ones & the community at large, that you plan for safe travel.

Since June 1st of this year West Vancouver Police Officers have taken 98 impaired drivers off the road through Immediate Roadside Driving Prohibitions, including seventeen 24-hour prohibitions, thirty-seven 3 & 7-day prohibitions, and forty-four 90-day driving prohibitions.

That is up from 66 total driving prohibitions in the same period last year. Patrol teams are supplemented in the summer by extra officers conducting Counterattack Road Checks. If you suspect someone is driving impaired, please call Police immediately.

Mail Theft

More instances of Mail Theft in our Crime Alerts this week. Please ensure you clear any mail or delivery items promptly, and arrange for a friend, family member or neighbour to collect mail items when you are away.
