Break-Ins

An unfortunately familiar pattern in a break-in reported this week in the Westhill area of the British Properties.  Residents returned home from an evening out to discover their home had been broken into. Suspects had made their way to an upper floor balcony & smashed through a glass door. No alarm was triggered. Fortunately, while several rooms appeared to have been rummaged through, nothing appeared to have been stolen.

If you have an alarm, please ensure it is set anytime you leave your home unattended. Burglary suspects will very commonly target upper floor balcony doors or windows, betting that homeowners will only have intrusion sensors on ground level entry points.   Regular review of your home security provisions is highly recommended, especially with an eye toward what upper-level entry points could be accessed by a motivated thief.

Suspects also targeted a patio door breaking into a ground level suite in a multi unit building in the Marine Drive/Taylor Way area. No alarm was triggered. Multiple rooms were ransacked.

Theft

Please avoid leaving items of value in your unattended vehicle. Crime Alerts this week include several Thefts from Auto from both locked and unlocked vehicles.
