Stolen Auto Recovery
Pro-active patrols can pay dividends. Patrol officers patrolling in the Chippendale Area this past Sunday morning checked a vehicle considered suspicious. The vehicle was subsequently confirmed as stolen from Burnaby. Two suspects in the vehicle were safely stopped & arrested. Individuals arriving in our district in a stolen vehicle certainly offered potential for further offences to have been committed.
As we send along Crime Alerts this week, we’re grateful to have no reported Residential Break-ins to include. Also, as frequently happens in winter months, calls-for-police-service volumes are trending lower than in other seasons, however, it is always a good time of year to review security at your own home or business property.
Public Advisory – Telephone Scam Alert
We’ll remind you again this week of our recent media release advisory of a scam in which suspects falsely represent the calls as originating from the WVPD Non-emergency phone number. Any assistance Block Watch Participants can provide in sharing this information to as many community members as possible is greatly appreciated.
