Public Advisory – Telephone Scam Alert

Any assistance Block Watch Participants can provide in sharing this information to as many community members as possible is greatly appreciated.

Stay Prepared To Reduce Your B&E Risk

Practice can help reduce your risk of loss in a residential break-in.  Two more break-ins in our Crime Alerts this week involved suspects smashing through glass patio doors.  No alarm was triggered in either offence, leaving the break-ins to be discovered only after residents returned home. If you have a home alarm, we encourage you to ensure you are familiar with your alarm. That can help you more easily and efficiently ensure the alarm is properly set anytime you are leaving your home, whether for long or short period.

Review where you have intrusion sensors installed.  Thieves frequently target upper floor balcony doors; betting residents will not have alarm sensors on those doors. Please take time ahead of leaving your home for any period to confirm your alarm system is working and properly set. Regularly confirm any surveillance cameras are working & clear of any obstructions.

**Please review our Crime Alerts – If you become aware of an offence in your neighbourhood area, we encourage you to review your own home surveillance system for any suspicious persons or activity on your own property. Please don’t hesitate to contact Police if you note anything of interest.

Anytime you see activity of concern, please don’t hesitate to call West Vancouver Police. Call 604-925-7300 for non-emergency matters. Call 9-1-1 in an emergency, including events that involve immediate danger to any person or a substantive crime in progress.  For updated crime alerts anytime click westvanpolice.ca/crime-alerts.
