Break-ins This Week
The Chief’s advice is timely considering additional break-in reports in our Crime Alerts this week. An intrusion alarm was triggered at a home in the Chartwell Drive area when thieves broke in through a side patio door. Patrol members responded immediately upon receiving notice from the alarm provider. Unfortunately, suspects had fled prior to officer’s arrival.
Meantime, suspects forced entry through a 2nd story bathroom window on a home in the West Bay area. No alarm was triggered. Jewelry, purses & a personal safe were stolen.
Garage & Parkade gates were forced in five separate multi-unit residential buildings on one night in the Deer Ridge, Skilift Road & Folkestone areas, with tools, sports equipment & e-Bikes stolen. And forced entry to storage lockers was reported in two separate buildings in the Ambleside area. Personal items and banking records were stolen.
Active investigations are ongoing in all reports.
**Please review our Crime Alerts. If you become aware of an offence in your neighbourhood area, we encourage you to review your own home surveillance system for any suspicious persons or activity on your own property. Please don’t hesitate to contact Police if you note anything of interest.**
