Our staff are committed to protecting and serving the citizens of West Vancouver through integrity, professionalism, accountability, trust, and respect. We take pride in delivering a level of service that is second to none. 

If you have questions, concerns, or would like to pass along a compliment, there are different ways to do this.

If you have had a positive experience with one of our officers or have recently observed an officer who you feel is worthy of a compliment, we would like to hear from you.  We are extremely proud of our officers and your comments are greatly appreciated.

Complaints

The Police Act is the provincial statute that governs conduct of municipal police officers throughout British Columbia. The act sets out legal parameters on how citizen complaints against municipal police officers or municipal police departments are investigated and reviewed. The Professional Standards Section is responsible for investigating and managing complaints in compliance with the Police Act.

A complaint may be resolved by means of a formal investigation or an informal resolution. Alternatively, a complainant may withdraw their complaint, or the Police Complaint Commissioner may decide to discontinue an investigation. 

Questions and Concerns

If you simply want the West Vancouver Police Department and the OPCC to know about your concerns but do not wish to participate in the formal complaint process, you may file a question or concern directly with us. You question or concern will be accepted by the West Vancouver Police Department and shared with the OPCC. We will attempt to resolve your question or concern.
