Five members of the West Vancouver Police Department received Inspectors Commendations for saving the lives of two individuals in distress.
Today, Deputy Chief Constable Tom Wolff von Gudenberg had the honour of presenting Constable Bryce Wilkinson with the 2022 Alexa Award
Is officially awarded this Certificate of Merit for her quick-thinking actions on September 28, 2023, that helped save the life of a stranger.
Is officially commended for demonstrating the highest standards of police conduct in a single incident where there was a high risk of danger. 
in 2018, Sgt Schafer, while still a constable, was reassigned to the VPD lead Project Territory – Task Force Tourniquet. This was a multijurisdictional joint forces operation consisting of police members from partnering agencies across the Lower Mainland. The investigation had a $6 million budget and targeted the Red Scorpions and the Kang Crime Group who were responsible for the most violent events in the region at the time.
The West Vancouver Police received an award from Mother’s Against Drunk Driving (MADD) for taking the most impaired drivers off the road (per capita) in the Metro Vancouver region in 2022. Two notable impaired driving investigations in the past week showcase some of the work WVPD officers do to combat impaired driving.
All of our graduates are first class, but we had an exception class in number 169 at the Justice Institute!
