Break & Enter

An alert resident & a prompt call to police led to a suspect in custody.  The suspect had followed a resident into the multi-unit building near Taylor Way & Marine Drive and was then seen attempting to enter suites. Officers attended, and subsequently found and arrested the suspect concealed in an upper floor storage area.

Keep a Property Log

Keeping a log of your property is a great way to ensure you have all serial numbers documented should your residence or vehicle be broken into. Be sure to store your log in a secure place and have it readily accessible. We’ve attached a pdf copy of a Block Watch form you can use or use as a guide to make your own. By keeping a log and reporting details of stolen property to police it will increase the chances of having your property returned to you if it’s stolen or goes missing.

eBike Patrols

Once again, this year as Spring heads to summer, watch for more officers patrolling on e-bikes. These bikes are a great tool for patrol, including park areas & during special events, surveillance, community presence & engagement!

Thefts

One report of Theft of Auto over the past week, a vehicle stolen from retail area parking near Taylor Way & Marine Drive.  Thefts from Auto this week included cash taken from an unlocked vehicle in the Eagle Harbour area, and a window smashed on a vehicle in public parking near Highway #99 & Lawrence Way.
