Residential Break-ins
Unfortunately, more Residential Break-in reports were received since our last report, with suspects encountering no working alarm or security systems.
Several rooms were targeted for theft in a Dundarave area home after thieves smashed through glass on a front door. Officers investigating a break-in at an Ambleside area home found no alarm was triggered and there was no sign of forced entry. The primary bedroom was targeted with jewelry stolen.
Suspects forced entry through a window of a ground floor suite in a Lions Gate Bridge area multi-unit complex. Cash, ID & credit cards were stolen.
Please remain alert in your neighbourhoods. Regularly review personal & property security measures to assess whether your property is adequately protected. Please don’t hesitate to call West Vancouver Police if you notice any suspicious persons or vehicles in your neighbourhood.
Neighbourhood Small Grants – 2025 Funding Still Available
West Vancouver Block Watch has been grateful to attend several annual meetings over the summer and into this fall, held by individual Block Watch groups and supported by the Neighbourhood Small Grant program. Grants under this program can provide up to $500 for projects that help bring neighbourhoods and community together. Hosting an annual meeting of your individual Block Watch to review community safety, or to include North Shore Emergency Management for an update on emergency preparations are eligible for grant consideration. It is a great opportunity for support to build connection in your neighbourhood and refresh neighbour contacts that can be vital in responding after any crime or emergency in your neighbourhood. The West Vancouver Foundation administers Neighbourhood Small Grants in our community and wants Block Watch Leads & participants to know there are still 2025 NSG funds available for application. If you are interested in holding a gathering with your neighbourhood, click www.westvanfoundation.ca/nsg for information on applying.
WVPD in the Community – Cops For Cancer – Goal Exceeded

With yours truly proud to have served again as Support Crew member & Team Bus Driver, West Vancouver Constables Jack Yee & Jerid McCuaig are proud to share results of their 2025 Cops for Cancer Tour de Coast journey September 12th – 19th. Along with officers & first responders from across the Lower Mainland, Sunshine Coast, Powell River & Sea to Sky Corridor, Jack & Jerid rode eight days, engaging with students & communities throughout our region all to support Pediatric Cancer Research and Patient Support programs like world-renowned Camp Goodtimes in Maple Ridge. At the end of Tour, West Vancouver Police Cops for Cancer raised over $47,000 and counting this year and contributed to the full Tour de Coast fundraising total of $646,895.19, exceeding our goal of $620,000! I was honoured to join the Tour’s final day as a guest rider, to mark ten years since a major cardiac event ended my 2015 Cops for Cancer Tour. Thanks to Chief John Lo and Deputy Chief Tom Wolff Von Gudenberg for supporting our efforts again this year and greeting the team at closing ceremonies😊
